The Dutch band Stream Of Passion around the Mexican front woman Marcela Bovios is also not very unknown on the festival. Already two years ago they had their debut and are now able to show with their new album "Darker Days" that they can rock the venue.
So there was a nice mixture of songs of that album (like "Lost" and the name giving track "Darker Days") but also of the two predecessor "Embrace The Storm" and "The Flame Within". During the show Marcela showed that she does not only have an impressive voice but also knows at several songs that she knows how to use a violin. The gig was way better than the one two years ago. You really can observe that they developed musically. That was honored also by the audience whereas simply due to the slow pace of the music it was not very lively in front of the stage.
On it there was much more happening as bassist Johan van Stratum swirled again around like a hurricane and also guitarist Stephan Schultz was not only fighting agressively with his instrument but also knew to conjure great solos out of it (really cool was the blue lightening variant of his instrument). I found the gig was really worth it and who likes more the silent way of metal should really take a look at or listen at some of the albums of the Dutch band that originally was formed as project of the well known guitarist Arjen Lucassen.
