Metal Female Voices Fest VII

Oktoberhallen Wieze (Belgium)

(Panasonic DMC-TZ7)

Before the festival, I knew Stream Of Passion only through Last.fm. Despite that, I was already looking forward to the gig of the Dutch with their Mexican lead singer and violinist Marcela Bovio. Originally started as a music project of Arjen Lucassen they were able to establish themselves independently in the meantime.
Their performance consisted of songs of their albums "Embrace The Storm" and "The Flame Within". The music is kind of symphonic metal style and composed of slow and mid tempo songs that are nevertheless presented very emotional. Unfortunately the hall was not that filled during their show but besides that the atmosphere was quite good.
Compared to Stream Of Passions album records I was not disappointed at all and also live Marcela cut a good figure in optical and vocal way. She was supported by bassist Johan van Stratum as well as by the two guitarists Eric Hazebroek and Stephan Shultz, all of them trying to enthuse the audience all the time.
