Metal Female Voices Fest IX
Oktoberhallen Wieze (Belgium)
(Pentax k-x with Tamron SP AF 17-50mm 2.8 XR Di II LD Asp IF and Sigma AF 50-150mm 2.8 EX DC APO HSM II)
Already on this years Wacken the four Norvegian knew to enthuse and that is just what they also did at the Oktoberhallen at Wieze. The music can be sorted inside the area of progressive and symphonic metal with decent hard rock influences. Especially front woman and bassist Ida Haukland could impress with her somehow lower voice.
The setlist was comparable to the one at Wacken and was composed out of their two albums "Onwards" and "The Road Less Traveled". As their gig at the Metal Female Voices Fest was longer than the one at Wacken there were some more songs to be heared. Really great was most of all their stage show. No huge show effects but all four knew how to use the stage to directly adress the audience. Especially the two guitarists Marius Silver Bergesen and Tor Ole Byberg made their mark by that, first also by his nice and extended solos.
In the end not only me was completely enthused by this powerful gig but also many others in the audience. That was one of the really great gigs of the weekend.
