(Pentax k-x with Tamron SP AF 17-50mm 2.8 XR Di II LD Asp IF and Sigma AF 50-150mm 2.8 EX DC APO HSM II)
As second act of the evening Midnattsol entered the stage to perform the new songs of their album "The Metamorphosis Melody" release just the day before. Accordingly was the stage decorated. But the show was of course not only formed by the new songs.
Directly after the intro of the new album "Alv" where all came onto the stage and were taking their marks they started first with "En Natt I Nord" of the former album "Nordlys". All were really keen on playing and that was obvious just from the first minute. Also the mood of the audience at the meanwhile a little bit better filled venue rose minute by minute. That was not only due to the open and direct nature of front woman Carmen Espenaes who on and on invited to clap along and come with them.
The program was cheery mixed and that was already really great. No matter if it were stunners of the new album like "The Tide" or "Kong Valemons Kamp" or "Lament" of the debut album "Where Twilight Dwells", Midnattsol knew fully to enthuse.
Due to that it was really a pitty that after only 45 minutes the last song "My Recreation" was announced. However each minute was worth it and I am already now looking forward to the Metal Female Voices Fest IX at Wieze in October where Midnattsol will additionally also perform. But it still is a while until then.
