With Visions Of Atlantis there was a band entering the stage that I was especially looking forward to. After many redeployments on singer position and a three years lasting abstinence the Austrians were finally back on stage.
With them they had not only their well known songs but also their new front woman Maxi Nil. Actually Visions Of Atlantis is also not a pure female fronted band as Maxi Nil is alternating with Mario Plank in singing. You could somehow recognize the long break but the longer the set took, the better they got rolling and at the same time the amosphere at the audience rose.
The set was covering all areas of their former released albums especially the last one "Trinity" and Maxi integrated very well into the Nighwish-like music of Visions Of Atlantis (it is not as symphonic but therefore the powerful synthie parts are dominating). It was mainly Mario that led the conversation with the audience and during that also gave a first glance to a possibly released new album. The first signs of that I see quite positive with the new singer and I am already looking forward to that what will be coming sometimes at the beginning of 2011. And so it was not only me that was enthused by the powerful and carrying along gig but also all others at the venue that got more filled before the band began (seemed like there were many Visions Of Atlantis fans).
