I was already looking forward to the Finnish metaller of Children Of Bodom. Unfortunately they had to start earlier compared to the last time and so the five gentlemen were standing their in the bright evening sun.
The music characterized by death, melodic death and thrash metal is not easily to classify but makes a lot of fun. So in the spot are mostly front man Alexi Laiho with his grunts and speedy solos as well as keyboarder Janne Wirman. Again and again there was a wonderful interaction between these two. On the otherwise quite clean stage there was only a big picture of the latest album cover. Otherwise the musicians were able to shine which they easily did. You could really see that they were keen on this gig and that was spreading also across the audience. The setlist was a nice cross section of the whole productive period of the band so that there was something for everyone.
So I liked them already very much the last time I saw them. The guys were really fun to watch and who has the opportunity to do so should absolutely try to watch them live.
