After the fairly melodic metalcore opener, things continued, following a short changeover, with classic death metal from Abrupt Demise from the Netherlands. The five guys formed in 2010 and have since released several EPs and one album. Vocalist René Brugmans didn’t need much warm-up time before hurling his growls at the audience, matching the sheer force of the music that rolled over everyone instantly.
What followed was a great set where you could clearly see how much fun the band was having on stage. Guitarists Ardy de Jong and Marc Ouwendijk kept striking poses for the crowd, as did bassist Joe Ferweda. And last but not least, there was band founder Herman Uiterwijk, working his magic behind the drum kit. Once again, it was a rock-solid performance that, unfortunately, ended far too quickly. And just like with the previous bands, the crowd in front of the stage was still rather small. The atmosphere was good, but not quite at the point of fully taking off. The day after their show in Nordhorn, the band announced that bassist Jos Ferweda would be leaving the group. This made their appearance at Grafschafter Metalfest 2026 the last show with this lineup.
