Further look back into the year 2016

At the beginning of the year, after posting pictures and reviews of the last Blackfield Festival at the Amphitheater Gelsenkirchen in 2015, the focus now shifts to two concert nights from 2016. The first evening kicked off with Nothing But Thieves, who opened the night at Cologne’s Lanxess Arena in April.
After the electrifying start by the British rock band, the evening seamlessly transitioned to the headliner, Muse. As part of their “Drones” tour, promoting the equally named album, the British trio delivered a stunning visual and auditory spectacle that left audiences in awe.
Things got heavier in June of the same year when Poem took the stage at the intimate Matrix in Bochum. Following them, Textures from the Netherlands sought to further ignite the crowd before the night culminated in the melodic death metal sounds of Amorphis. That evening, the Finnish band wrapped up their grand *Under A Red Cloud* European tour, delivering a consistently outstanding performance. Thanks to the minimalist staging of the venue, the focus remained entirely on the music.
