Solar Fake started their performance with a funny moment. They began to play, probably already hearing their music in the in-ear monitors, and went all out with the show. Unfortunately, nothing came out of the speakers, which caused amused smiles on many faces. After about half a minute, the problem was resolved, the sound technician found the right switch, and everyone could enjoy the great electro-pop tunes.
Singer Sven Friedrich immediately captivated everyone with his great voice and stage performance, supported by André Feller on keyboards, who had replaced Frank Arnold the previous year. They played a colorful mix of songs from their previous albums. But here too, as with Sono before, there was something new to hear with “Under Control”. The crowd sang and danced loudly in front of the stage. It was clear that both the audience and the artists kept pushing each other higher. Of course, the usual cover version was not missing. Today, the choice fell on “One Step Closer” by Linkin Park, before the performance was properly concluded with “My Spaces” from the current album “Reasons To Kill”.
Again, like with Sono, I have to say that it was a very good performance that was really fun. Nevertheless, for me personally, the electro-pop style doesn't quite fit for everyday listening, but at such a festival, it's a wonderful change of pace.
